Delivering healthcare that meets both patient and carer expectations is one of our goals. We are developing an integrated approach using research, education and science focused on healthcare improvement to progress the patient experience.

The Imperial Patient Experience Research Centre (PERC) is an example of our work in this area. The Centre aims to promote active communication between patients, researchers and clinical staff to address real problems, and through this improve the quality of healthcare and the impact of translational research.

The Centre is made up of a multidisciplinary group of clinicians, public health specialists and social scientists combining strengths in quantitative and qualitative research methods.

PERC is implementing its expertise across the AHSC through its research programme and through patient and public engagement activities. This is improving the collection and analysis of patient experience data and supporting service improvement and design.
