Lung cancer is one of the most common types cancer, with around 36,500 new cases diagnosed every year.

This has a huge impact on our health service as well as on patients and their loved ones.  In this seminar two experts will talk about how we can work towards reducing the burden of lung cancer through research and improved treatment methods.

Professor Elio Riboli, Director of the School of Public Health at Imperial College London, will talk about some of his leading research, and discuss how continued advances in epidemiology are helping with our understanding of lung cancer and lung cancer prevention.

Dr Sanjay Popat, Consultant Thoracic Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and Reader in Cancer Medicine at Imperial College, will discuss the changing face of lung cancer treatment, and some of the challenges associated with  treating the disease.
